Age relaxation applies according to government rules. SC/ST candidates receive 5 years, OBC candidates 3 years and PwD candidates 10 years. PwD candidates from OBC and SC/ST categories can receive 13 and 15 years respectively, while applicable ex-servicemen and defence personnel also receive the prescribed relaxation.
SSC JE 2026 Educational Qualification
For core engineering positions in organizations such as CPWD, BRO, MES, CWC and CWPRS, candidates need a Diploma or Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, depending on the post.
Diploma holders applying for BRO and MES positions need two years of relevant work experience, while B.Tech candidates can apply as freshers where the notification permits.
For JE Telecom, candidates need B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology or Instrumentation.

SSC JE Selection Process 2026
The SSC JE selection process has two computer-based examination papers followed by document verification.
