IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2026

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification. They must also have proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB.

Officer Scale I

Applicants need a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification. Preference is given to candidates with degrees in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, agricultural marketing and cooperation, IT, management, law, economics or accountancy.

Local language proficiency is also required.

Officer Scale II General Banking Officer

Candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. Preference may be given to candidates from banking, finance, marketing, agriculture, IT, management, law, economics, accountancy and related disciplines.

The post also requires two years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.

Officer Scale II IT Officer

Candidates should hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent field. One year of relevant experience is required.

Officer Scale II CA

Applicants must be a Certified Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and have one year of experience as a Chartered Accountant.

Officer Scale II Law Officer

Candidates need a Law degree with at least 50% marks. They must also have two years of experience as an advocate or as a Law Officer in a bank or financial institution.

Officer Scale II Treasury Manager

Applicants must have a CA qualification or MBA in Finance from a recognized university or institution, along with one year of relevant experience.

Officer Scale II Marketing Officer

Candidates require an MBA in Marketing from a recognized university and one year of relevant experience.

Officer Scale II Agriculture Officer

Applicants need a relevant Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in agriculture, horticulture, dairy, animal husbandry, forestry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering or pisciculture. One year of relevant experience is required.

Officer Scale III

Candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. Preference is given to relevant banking, finance, agriculture, IT, management, law, economics, accountancy and related qualifications.

A minimum of five years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution is required.

IBPS RRB Selection Process 2026

The selection process depends on the post. For Office Assistant and Officer Scale I, candidates go through the Preliminary Examination followed by the Main Examination. For Officer Scale II and III, the recruitment includes a single-level examination, with interviews for officer posts as applicable.

There is a 0.25-mark penalty for each wrong answer.

Preliminary Examination

For Office Assistant and Officer Scale I, the preliminary test contains 80 questions for 80 marks and lasts 45 minutes.

Main Examination

The Main Examination for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I carries 200 questions and 200 marks with a total duration of 120 minutes. Sections include Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, General/Financial Awareness, English or Hindi Language and Numerical/Quantitative Ability, as applicable.

Officer Scale II and III examinations also include areas such as Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, Financial Awareness, Language and Quantitative Aptitude. Specialist Scale II posts include Professional Knowledge.
