Ex-ITI Category

Educational Qualification
Candidates applying under the Fresher category for trades such as Fitter, Painter and Welder should have passed 10th standard under the 10+2 system or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Ex-ITI applicants need 10th standard with at least 50% aggregate marks and an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from a recognised institute, with the required NCVT or SCVT certification.
Eligible trades include Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Diesel Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter, Welder, Wireman, Plumber, Draughtsman, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Secretarial Assistant, Stenographer, ICT System Maintenance and COPA/PASSA, among others.
Southern Railway Apprentice Age Limit
Candidates must have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22 years for Freshers or 24 years for Ex-ITI and MLT candidates, as applicable.
Age relaxation applies according to the prescribed rules. SC/ST candidates receive five years, OBC candidates receive three years and PwBD candidates receive ten years of relaxation. Certain other categories, including persons affected by the 1984 riots and eligible women who meet the specified conditions, can also receive applicable relaxation.
