ISRO Scientist/Engineer Age Limit

Candidates should be 28 years old as on 16 September 2026. Serving Central Government employees, Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates can receive age relaxation according to Government of India orders.

  • OBC candidates: born on or after 18 August 1995

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Selection Process

The selection process includes a Written Test/CBT followed by an Interview. ISRO will use written-test performance to shortlist candidates for the interview.

The written test contains a discipline-specific section with 80 questions for 80 marks, followed by an aptitude/ability section carrying 20 marks. The examination has a total of 100 marks.

The discipline-specific section runs for 90 minutes and carries a one-third mark deduction for each wrong answer. The aptitude/ability section runs for 30 minutes and has no negative marking.

Candidates shortlisted for the interview will generally appear in a 1:5 ratio, with an aggregate minimum of 10 candidates.

The interview carries 100 marks and assesses technical knowledge, general awareness, communication and presentation skills, comprehension, and academic achievements or performance.

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive a minimum salary of ₹56,100 per month under Pay Level 10. The position offers engineering graduates the chance to begin a professional career with ISRO while working in a specialised technical environment.

Application Fee

Candidates must make an initial processing payment of ₹750. ISRO will refund ₹500 from this amount as specified in the recruitment conditions.

A separate non-refundable application fee of ₹250 applies for the posts. SC, ST, Female, Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates can receive a full refund of the processing fee, subject to appearing for the Written Test/CBT.
